Sports Update

The first full week of the new rugby season was very enjoyable as the children showed plenty of excitement and enthusiasm for the change of Sport. On Wednesday, the U13 and U11 Rugby teams travelled to Worth School to participate in the hosts festival for the first year. Both age group competitions were made up of eight schools, with six in each having played rugby since the beginning of September. Despite this only being Cranmore’s day three of the rugby season, both the U11 and U13s reached the final. This was certainly a fantastic achievement and bodes well for the rugby season ahead. On Thursday, the whole Form Two travelled to SGJS for matches A to F. Despite being the first year of tackling all the children were applying the early training sessions learning with fantastic effort and perseverance.

Our Cross Country team performed very well at the Guildford District Trials at Chaterhouse, whilst our squash squad won plenty of individual matches on Friday evening against CLFS held at Cranmore. We had a great first Saturday morning of Rugby with our U10s A to E competing in a triangular with visiting teams Danes Hill and St. Georges.

The second week of Rugby includes our U11s competing at the Wellington Festival, U12 A and B against Thomas’s, Clapham, U9 A to F away at Cranleigh, on Saturday Cranmore host a U11 A to C triangular with Cranleigh and Trinity, and U10 A to C play Cranleigh away. Finally, on Thursday 22 Nov, six U8 teams are competing in their first rugby fixture this season against Cranleigh at Cranmore.
