Sports Focus

The U8s KCJS Centenary festival kicked off our weekend of sport last Friday with Cranmore entering teams. Our B side showed outstanding character to match up against some strong sides with excellent work ethic, especially in their defensive play. Our A side showed plenty of determination, winning three knockout games post pool stages to reach the final against Downsend. The game (and extra time) finished 1-1 which meant a penalty shoot out was to decide the outcome of the match and competition. Cranmore showed fortitude and calmness in winning the penalty shoot out which meant they were the 2018 KCJS Plate winners.

On a fine Saturday morning, the Henderson Fields was the venue for all children in the 4th form to play in matches, with Cranmore fielding sides from A to F. Our visiting teams were Danes Hill and Feltonfleet which allowed no fewer than 10 matches to take place. Over 100 family members from all teams supported the children from the sidelines and even managed time to try a sausage (and/or), bacon bap from our catering team. Our U11s A & B competed in a triangular at Feltonfleet School with the other team being Danes Hill. Due to adverse weather, the rowing on Sunday in Bath was cancelled.

This week, the U9s have six teams against Danes Hill, our 1st XI feature in the Surrey Cup quarter final and our Swim Squad compete on Wednesday at KCJS. Thursday has three of our U9 football teams featuring against Parkside and on Friday we have House football for U12/U13s (2nd round) and U10s. Rowing on Saturday concludes another busy week.
