Library News

Following a visit from prizewinning author, Onjali Raúf, four lucky pupils were treated to afternoon tea at the Savoy in London as their prize in a library competition.

Winner of Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2019 and the Blue Peter Book Award 2019, The Boy at the Back of the Class is a hugely topical book, which deals with the refugee crisis. Ahmet is a refugee who has just started at a new school. The book is written from the perspective of one of his classmates, who is determined to find out more about this boy and find answers to her list of questions. The book is very accessible to children as it is written from the point of view of an 8-year-old child.

Thank you to Onjali for this memorable occasion.
